As we are waiting for the end of the David Tennant years as The Doctor to come to a close, we find that before he leaves we get to see him for 2 episodes in The Sarah Jane Adventures. Many of us are curious as to see how the stories will intertwine with the main story line of Doctor Who. I was glad to find that we will have a little more of DT before Matt Smith takes over the role of The Doctor. Yes, I am a David Tennant fan so for me, Matt Smith will have even bigger shoes to fill as The Doctor. Each Doctor has had something that we love so I hope that Matt has something to endear us to him as all of the others before.
Each companion has also had something that we all love, & I am looking forward to seeing Wilf as the next companion. When Matt Smith takes over as The Doctor we will see a beautiful sexy goddess as his companion. Karen Gillan who has been in an episode as The Soothesayer in The Fires of Pompeii has landed the role for companion in 2010. For me it seems to present a challenge. How do you cast such young attractive actors with out taking away from the whole story? There needs to come some phenomenal acting & superb performances from the rest of the crew that works on the show whether it be writers, directors, costume designers, or anyone else that has a finger in making the show.
Apprehension has always been present when a new actor takes over the role of The Doctor & this time is no different. As a kid I was reluctant to let go of Tom Baker as The Doctor & accept Peter Davison even though I knew that in order for the story to continue a new actor had to take over. It was because I enjoyed the story so much that I began to open my heart to Peter. Just like it was when I was a child, no matter how much I love David Tennant as my Doctor, I know I love the story even more. I will be able to open my nerdy science fiction heart to Matt Smith as the next Doctor & hope that he will impress me as much as he seemed to impress Steven Moffat.
